5 Life Lessons I Learnt From My Father (aka My Super Hero)

We all don't require a day to rethink our parents and their sacrifices while upbringing us. However, this day as I write (Father's day), I recollect and cherish blissful memories and life lessons my dad taught me unknowingly. My father, a strong-willed person is my ultimate guide, mentor, and cheerleader. If there is a one-person who will always be a star is my father. There is nothing like love and care from your father. My father worked in a different country for a living while we all stayed in our home country. He earned tirelessly for his family and made sure his family is sound and healthy. I could do nothing to repay him for all the love and care he bestowed upon me.

Having said that, I decided to write an article on the most life lessons that my father taught me throughout his life.

1. Being Humble

My father started working in his teens and worked till his retirement. Along the path, he became a successful person in terms of career, family, and wealth. Having acquired all of this, I have never seen my dad being boastful of his success. He was insanely humble and wondered how a person could never have carried his success to his head. In fact, I have seen my father reasoned his success was due to the support of his family members. That's when I decided if my father could be humble irrespective of success then being his daughter I can follow the same path.

"Being Humble take more courage than hauling arrogance."

2. Dedication:

Similar to what the above picture says, my father is known for his strong-willed nature, his hard work, and dedication. If there was anything in his mind, it is definitely a done deal. Similarly, while I was growing up, my father has always made sure that his daughters (my sisters & I) have cultivated a sense of dedication and responsibility that essential life skill. For example, I still remember on one occasion, if I felt discouraged in failing an exam my father encouraged me and made sure I try it again till I succeed.

3. Help Others:

Love is eternal and I am glad that I am brought up in a family full of love and care. Love can be shown in different forms and my father always shown his love & care by supporting people in need. My father is our family's strong sense of hope and love. He has instilled the ray of love and hope in times of adversity. He has taught us to be truthful to our heart whilst helping a person and forget about it forever (never boast about it) as it is told by Jesus "Give To Those In Need, But Don’t Boast About It.” – Jesus"

"Be a blessing and dont be a brag about it"

4. Dream Big:

My dad had big dreams and believed in himself. I have seen him striving for success while he dreamt. He taught me that sky is the limit (wait! is there a limit?). He taught me to believe in myself and he believed in me too. The assurance that my father has given me by believing in me is paramount. Don't you have the sense of serenity when you know there is someone in life who believes in you even when you are at the lowest point in life!! That sense of feeling was the most memorable gift given by my dad. This led me to dream big with all the mocking from society.

"Believe in your dreams"

5. Investing earlier in life:

Everybody needs to invest earlier in life and that's a smart move. My father was a great thinker and smart investor. He has always made sure to not spent his money thriftily and invested smartly. This was taught to be in hand by I keenly observed my father's spending and investing habits. I have been reading investment books lately but never did I know that my father followed the steps mentioned in books. I am still learning to invest smartly and thanks to my dad for putting the seed of smart investment in my mind.

These are few of the most valuable lessons I learned from my dad. I am forever indebted to my dad for all the lessons he taught.
